Every two months, The Belgian-Luxembourg Chamber of Commerce for Russia and Belarus (BLRB Chamber of Commerce - ex CCBLR) sends you its East Inform - a newsletter to keep you informed on what's happening in the business world between Belgium, Luxembourg and Russia, Belarus but also to receive invitations to events, business proposals and job offers to develop trade between our countries.

29/09 - BLRB joint webinar with TACCR about LNG

Liquefied natural gas' popularity is growing all over the world. According to the 2019 Shell report, global demand for LNG increased by 12.5%, reaching 359 million tons. According to the forecasts of the International Energy Agency, in 2040 the demand for LNG  will double by 700 million tons, which explains the growing popularity of natural gas. 

On 11th of June 2020, Russian government announced measures to create JV’s with foreign partners and licensors in direction of joint LNG projects.

During our webinar, we talked about how the EU - EAEU are ready to use these opening opportunities and about the prospects of the global LNG industry and place of EU lisensors in EAEU LNG Joint Ventures.

Belgian-Luxembourg Chamber of Commerce in Russia officially accredited by the Kingdom of Belgium and Grand Duchy of Luxembourg authorities

BLRB proudly informs you of an important milestone in the life of the Belgian-Luxembourg Chamber of Commerce in Russia.

On September 9 2020, our Chamber received official accreditation from the Kingdom of Belgium and Grand Duchy of Luxembourg authorities and now our Chamber in Moscow is a certified association representing the interests of all Belgian and Luxembourgish businesses in Russia.

We sincerely thank all our members and partners for support and we look forward to your growing involvement in our activities!

Russian visa information for our members
 
As many of you contacted us with questions concerning the possibility to travel to Russia for business, here are the main information we have. 

The Government of the Russian Federation banned the entry of foreign nationals, with a few exceptions.

The ban does not apply to: diplomats, airplane crew members, permanent residents of the Russian Federation who hold a valid residence permit, or transit passengers. On a business point a view, foreigners who qualify as a “high-qualified specialist” on specific categories of work visas are allowed to enter Russia with the proper visa document.  They should coordinate with their employer in Russia in obtaining this type of visa.

The Russian government requires that all foreign travelers present a negative PCR COVID-19 test result upon arrival, dated no later than three days prior to arrival in Russia. The results can be in English and/or digital. Foreign travelers must also complete the form hereby, print, and present to customs upon arrival in Russia. More info here

On the positive side, as announced earlier, Russian E-visas will go live in 2021 and will allow foreigners of 53 countries (including the EU) to stay up to 16 days in the whole of Russia. The application will be online. More info here
On September 17, H.E. Mr. Dmitry Lobanov has been appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to Luxembourg, Russian President Vladimir Putin has signed a corresponding decree. More info here
 
On September 24, the new Ambassador of the Kingdom of Belgium to the Russian Federation, H.E. Marc Michielsen presented copies of his credentials to Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Alexander Grushko. More info here
